PAKTURK MAARIF GIRLS MUN

Legacy Edition.

This year's conference, with the theme of "legacy edition", is the third edition of our MUN, where we continue to encourage 'advocacy for diplomacy' and give participants the chance to explore and tackle the urgent issues of our time by actively engaging in meaningful discussions about current global issues.

SOCHUM

Agenda - Strengthening International Cooperation and Coordination to Prevent and Combat Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery.

The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) is the third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, dedicated to addressing a broad range of social, humanitarian affairs, and human rights issues. SOCHUM promotes and enforces basic freedoms and ideals meant to be enjoyed by the entire international community.

Agenda - Seeking resolve to the instability in East and West Africa.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC), as one of the six main organs of the United Nations, holds the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. It has the unique power to make decisions that member states are obligated to implement, giving it a pivotal role in addressing global issues, including the authority to deploy UN peacekeeping missions and impose sanctions.

Agenda - Women in Conflict and Post Conflict Periods.

The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. It is instrumental in documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world and shaping global standards on gender equality and women's rights.

Agenda - Topic A: Reconciliation and denuclearization on the Korean peninsula in the aftermath of the Korean war.


Topic B: Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) Proliferation: Examining the illicit trade and circulation of small arms and light weapons, their impact on conflict, and measures to control their spread.

As the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is tasked with addressing disarmament and international security matters while establishing general principles of cooperation in the maintenance of international peace and security.

CRISIS

Agenda - The Berlin Crisis of 1961 and the construction of the Berlin Wall.

The Crises Committee is not a traditional UN committee, but rather a MUN-world speciality. It is designed to emulate small organizations and boards, and often set in the context of a major historical event. Crisis committees are fast-paced MUN committees that require teamwork with allies and partners, and strategically suited joint decisions and crisis notes.

PNA

Agenda - Rolling Crisis.

The Pakistan National Assembly (PNA) is the country’s sovereign legislative body, embodying the will of the people to govern under a democratic, multi-party Federal Parliamentary System. The PNA has the power to pass laws, approve the federal budget, and hold the government accountable for its actions as well as ensure that it functions within the parameters set out in the Constitution and does not violate the fundamental rights of citizens.
